It's a girl!

The moment of the ultrasound finally arrived yesterday. Luke and I were both so giddy when we arrived at the office. Luke still had a glimmer of hope that it would be a boy, but didn't seem too disappointed when the technician said, "It's a girl." Knowing that they usually give a percentage of the accuracy of the prediction, I asked. She looked at me seriously and said, "100%, this baby right here is a girl with no doubts." She wasn't able to get very clear pictures for us because little one was hopped up on the orange juice I had for breakfast and was moving around like crazy! Hence, the blurry profile shot.

It's funny how quickly Luke warmed up to the idea of a little girl...just hours later when we were picking out car seats he insisted we register for the more expensive one because of its higher safety marks on consumer reports and said, "Only the best for my daughter." I'm such a sap...thinking about it now makes me want to cry tears of joy. We are so blessed!

Today I was up again at 5am with no hope of falling back asleep. This insomnia is going to get old fast. Maybe my body is just trying to prepare for being awoken by a newborn at all hours? I wish I could get a few more months of 10 hours of sleep a day like in the first trimester! I think I'm going to go watch our baby girl on DVD again to pass the time : ) How quickly you can fall in love!

"I prayed for this child, and the Lord has granted me what I asked of him."
1 Samuel 1:27
